The Illinois College football team was ranked No. 13 in the Division III preseason Top 25 list in the Lindy's Sports College Football 2012 Preview, which hit newsstands earlier this week.
The ranking comes after a record-setting 2011 football season at Illinois College. The Blueboys went 9-1 in the regular season and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs, the first in school history. Illinois College lost its first round playoff game at Wabash College, 38-20.
Illinois College is the highest ranked Midwest Conference team in Lindy's Division III Top 25. Monmouth College, the only other MWC team in the rankings, came in at No. 25. Mount Union claimed the top spot on the list, followed by Wesley, UW-Whitewater, St. Thomas and Delaware Valley.
The Illinois College football team opens its 2012 season on September 1 against Hanover College.
