Illinois College junior guard
Nathan Kohler has been named to the Midwest Conference all-conference men's basketball team as a Second Team selection.
Kohler averaged team-high totals of 16.0 points and 4.9 assists per game in 2012-2013. He also averaged 3.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game, while shooting 45.7 percent from the field, 36.2 percent from beyond the 3-point arc and 82.7 percent from the foul line. The junior guard started all 23 of the Blueboys' games this winter while averaging a team-high 32.8 minutes per game.
Kohler averaged 15.5 points at the Bill Merris Tournament to open the season, earning All-Tournament Team honors. He topped the 20-point mark in five games this year, netting a season-high of 28 points in a 123-114 win at Grinnell College on December 11. He pulled down a season-high six rebounds on three different occasions and dished out a season-high nine assists in a 78-74 win over Ripon College on December 8.
Kohler finished the season with 993 career points, needing nine more to become the 28th player in Illinois College men's basketball history to reach 1,000 career points.
The Illinois College men's basketball team finished the season with an overall record of 9-14 and a Midwest Conference mark of 6-11.
Ripon's Taylor Koth was named the MWC Player of the Year. St. Norbert College's Gary Grzesk was named MWC Coach of the Year.
