WINNECONNE, Wis. – The Illinois College men's cross country team ended its season on Saturday at the NCAA Midwest Regional where the Blueboys were 38th on the day.
Zach Yoggerst led the team with a time of 28:54.70 in the 8k race at Lake Breeze Golf Club.
Racing without the services of
Sam Welbourne, consistently one of the team's top finishers throughout the season, the Blueboys were battling more than just some rough elements on the day. Yoggerst's finish put him at 215th in the field, while
Shane Blackley followed as the second Blueboy to cross the line. Blackley's time of 29:38.60 was 227th on the afternoon.
The other scorers for IC were
Tyler Devlin (29:54.90, 233rd),
Jordan Lewis (31:20.10, 244th) and
Matt Murphy (32:09.40, 253rd). Also competing for the Blueboys was
Adam Enz (33:00.90, 257th).
With the conclusion of the fall season, the Illinois College runners will now gear up for the upcoming indoor track & field season. The Blueboys will open the winter by hosting the Snow Bird Open at King Field House on Jan. 24.
