PEORIA, Ill. – The Illinois College men's cross country team continued taking strides in the first year under new Head Coach
Jason Haynes with a second place finish at the Bradley Intercollegiate on Friday afternoon in Peoria's Detweiller Park.
Zach Yoggerst was the top finisher for the Blueboys, crossing the finish line sixth with a time of 28:48.8 in the 8K race.
Close behind Yoggerst was
Sam Welbourne, who was 14th in the competition in 29:09.0. Crossing almost exactly at the half-hour mark was
Adam Enz, finishing 24th in 30:00.1.
Rounding other the scorers for IC were
Tyler Devlin (36th, 30:39.5) and
Shane Blackley (50th, 30:50.9). The other runners on the afternoon for the Blueboys were
Matt Murphy (32:12.7) and
Rogelio Garcia (39:33.9).
Illinois College is next in action on Sept. 27, taking part in the Beloit Olde English Cross Country Classic. The men will break off the line at 10 a.m. in the 8K race.
